Dear Friends of KHCS,
Are we witnessing the first stages of
World War III? With the turmoil brewing in the Middle East are we near
the end of human history?
For more than two weeks now, Fox News
and CNN have shown their “Breaking News” headlines 24 hours a day. One
issue can always instantly galvanize the focus of all the oil rich Arab
nations – their hatred for and wish for the obliteration of Israel.
Bible-believing Christians should not
be alarmed, shocked or surprised by the current events in the Middle
East. The Scriptures clearly teach the central focus of the world being
upon Israel during the final events of human history as we now know it.
Check out the Biblical facts. Israel
has always been the focus of God’s plan with mankind. Through Abraham,
Israel was chosen and promised a national land (Genesis 12:1; 13:14-15,
17), promised redemption both national and universal (Genesis 12:3;
22:18; Galatians 3:16), and promised numerous descendants to form a
great nation (Genesis 12:2; 13:16; 17:2-6). In subsequent Covenants,
God promised Israel the Palestinian land (Deuteronomy 30:3-5; Ezekiel
20:33-37, 42-44) and the Davidic Covenant promised a future dynasty,
nation and throne (II Samuel 7; Jeremiah 33:20, 21).
What position should 21st century
Christians take on Israel? We should know God is not finished with the
tiny nation and people. After 2500 years of being dispersed to all
nations, God brought Israel back into existence in 1948.
Christians should remember God’s
promise in Genesis 12:3 to bless them that bless Israel and curse them
that curse Israel still holds true today. We should also daily heed the
words of David in Psalms 122:6 – “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they
shall prosper that love thee.”
Regardless of the outcome of the
specific current strife, we can be certain the return of our Lord in
fulfillment of much Israel-related prophecy is near. Our focus should
be on spreading the gospel of Christ now more than ever. Our time to do
this is short. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).
Please allow what is happening in our
world to motivate you to continue to give liberally and consistently to
the ministry of KHCS as we spread the good news of Jesus Christ 24 hours
a day, seven days a week until He comes. Last month several of you
responded to our newsletter by committing monthly support for the
operation of the station. We need many more to take this action now so
we can continue and even expand our ministry and pay off our debt.
Given the scope of current events we
don’t know how many hours, days, months or years we have to preach the
gospel before Christ returns. With your continued support we will be .
. .
Here until He comes,

Dan Pike
President
Note: Author and friend of Joy 92 FM
for many years, Samantha Landy, has given to KHCS many copies of her new
book, Savvy Singles Handbook. This is a very informative and practical
book for singles, 50 and beyond. It’s a good read for anyone, married
or single. As a friend and supporter of KHCS, it’s yours for the
asking. Just drop us a note or give us
call and one will be sent to you at no charge.
P. S. – The summer
months are traditionally slow for contributions. Your continual, monthly
commitment to be a partner in KHCS and our ministry of sowing the Word
of God 24 hours a day, 7 days a week is essential. Please give
generously as we serve our Lord together. Also, I hope your enjoying
our local news which is being done by Janet Barnbrook who is donating
her time to the work of the Lord.
