July 2007
Dear Friends of KHCS,
This is our second of three
consecutive months of dealing with the spiritual battle being fought
around the world right now involving those who practice the Muslim
religion. As stated last month, our goal is not to attack but to simply
reveal facts. Last month we looked at the vicious attacks which have
been carried out over the past two decades by those who profess the
Islamic faith.
This month we look at the Islamic
religion – how it started and what they believe. Volumes of literature
have been penned on this subject. Our aim is to crystallize their
beliefs into this two page newsletter. We will leave pertinent
information out. The shear weight of information forces this.
In approximately 600 BC, Mohammed was
an illiterate Arab tribesman working the deserts of Arabia who had been
born in Mecca. Mohammed claimed he was spoken to by the angel Gabriel.
Subsequently, Mohammed had various scribes write the Koran for him. This
holy book of Islam contains 114 chapters called surahs and 6,666 verses
called ayahs.
Though Mohammed was encouraged by his
fellow tribesmen to convince the Jews he was a prophet, the Jews are
said to have rejected his claim because of his ignorance of the Bible.
Christians have rejected the Koran because Jesus is called “the son of
Mary,” but never the Son of God. Muslims consider Christians
polytheists because we believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy
Spirit. No matter how many ecumenical services are held, the three
religions are not on the same page and never will be.
Mohammed claimed that Ishmael, rather
than Isaac, was God’s chosen son of Abraham. Of course, you remember
that the parents of Ishmael were Abram and Hagar, Sarai’s maidservant.
It would serve us well to remember the words the angel of the Lord told
Hagar before Ishmael was born – “He (Ishmael) will be a wild donkey of a
man, his hand will be against everyone and everyone’s hand against him,
and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers” (Genesis 16:12).
When you open and read the Koran you
will find interesting literature. You will find the story of Moses and
his confrontation with the Egyptian pharaoh given not once but 27
times! Noah’s ark and the Biblical flood are retold 28 times. Lot in
Sodom and Gomorrah only made the book 14 times. Interestingly, in the
27 recounts of Moses and the pharaoh, the Passover, the most integral
part of the story theologically, is excluded.
The Koran threatens hellfire, wrath,
eternal judgment and perdition 783 times. In contrast, the Bible’s Old
Testament mentions hell 31 times and the New Testament discusses hell 74
times.
There are five pillars of Islam:
1) Faith in Allah and Mohammed his
prophet,
2) Prayer – 5 times a day toward
Mecca,
3) Tithing,
4) Ramadan – month-long fast from dawn
to sunset, and,
5) Hajj – Islamic religious pilgrimage
to Mecca.
Jihad, Muslim holy war, is not a
pillar but it is the highest duty of Muslims. The Koran exhorts
believers to wage jihad against unbelievers in over 100 verses. Anyone
who does not accept Allah and believe the Koran is an unbeliever or an
infidel. Unbelievers are given an invitation to convert but if not then
their ultimate destruction is acceptable, even encouraged.
The Koran has an interesting and
not-so-politically-correct view of women. Muslim men can marry 4 wives.
A Muslim man can divorce one of his 4 wives by simply saying to her 3
times, “I divorce you.” This allows him to replace her with still
another wife. The Koran elsewhere equates one man’s testimony with that
of two women (Surah 2:282).
We asked in last month’s newsletter –
Are we trying to instigate an uprising against Muslim people? Remember
how we answered last month – Jesus loves them this we know for the Bible
tells us so!
One major teaching from our belief
system from the Bible puts us in the crosshairs of Muslims, Jews, Hindu,
Hollywood, Liberals and Politicians – exclusivity. The Lord Himself
said it this way – “I am The Way, and The Truth and The Life.” But the
last part of John 14:6 causes those outside the Family of God to boil –
“No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
When Peter stood before the Sanhedrin
he was asked in Acts chapter 4 “By what power or what name did you do
this?” Peter stood strongly in the face of those who could have had him
executed and stated boldly – “Salvation is found in no one else, for
there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be
saved.” Upon hearing Peter speak these words the scriptures state –
“When they saw the courage of Peter . . . they were astonished . . . and
they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”
Just like 2000 years ago, the hope of
our world is men and women who will stand strong in the Faith in the
face of opposition and give evidence to the world that we have been with
Jesus, The Way, The Truth and The Life, The Name whereby we must be
saved.
This is the Gospel message KHCS
proclaims daily. We are totally dependent on your tax-deductible gifts
to keep this ministry on the air. The last couple of months have been
difficult, so I would ask those of you that have not shared in this
ministry to consider becoming a committed monthly partner. Thank you.
In His joy,

Dan Pike
