Dear Friends of KHCS,

For months now, we have seen more political posturing than ever before in our history. This presidential election which started over three years ago is still eight long months away. Political parties are trying to appeal for votes mainly by telling people what they will do for them. The term “change” is something we are constantly hearing. Change? Change from what? Change from what to what? It’s enough to make you dizzy.

Hope is another campaign speech buzz-word. But hope for what? The Biblical word for hope means “a desired future.” David Gibbs from the Christian Law Association, who is heard daily on KHCS (the Legal Alert heard at 8:30 AM and 12:57 PM) said this last week the homosexual activists have been assured and now believe they will have the opportunity to be involved in the Federal government as never before. This has been their long term goal. This is certainly not what I consider a desired future for our country.

As Christians, this is something we must speak out to others about in earnest. Though it is true we cannot legalize morality it is also true that immorality can be made “lawful.” Remember, these people do not represent family values. They do not hold pro-life positions and other Biblical values we hold. Even though many of them claim to be “religious,” it is difficult reconciling this religiosity with what the Bible says about this kind of sin.

Same sex marriage is another issue we cannot tolerate as Bible believing Christians. Is this what change is about? Abortion is not something we can tolerate as Christians. Is not stopping it what change is about? As Christians we must be informed about all of these matters and speak out boldly to others and let them know what the Bible has to say about such matters. Change is good – if it is change for good.

KHCS has for years been providing you programs that keep you informed about issues which continue to be a threat to the Christian community all over the world. In this country we have been blessed with religious freedom unlike no other country in the world. We constantly hear about persecution of Christians in other countries for no reason other than just being a Christian. This is why we cannot just sit quietly and complacently by and think everything will be OK.

We must know the issues – the questions out there on the playing field of life. We must, then, also know what the Bible says about the issues – answers God would have His people know. We should then search for the espoused positions our potential leaders hold on the key issues and not be hesitant to let our position be known to others who don’t know the issues, are apathetic, un-informed or mis-informed.

I believe it is inappropriate for national Christian leaders to abuse their spiritual authority by telling people specifically they will not vote for any candidate. In reality, not one of the candidates line up totally with their spiritual and moral convictions. This is why people like you and I have the responsibility to let our leaders know what we expect of them and why. But more importantly, we must keep our country and leaders (and potential leaders) in prayer. God can change the hearts and minds of men and women. If we as Christian men and women do nothing or say nothing right now we will receive exactly what we deserve.

As this Easter time we want to reflect on God’s goodness to us as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because of the resurrection and our trust in Jesus Christ for our salvation we have the promise we will be with Him for eternity in Heaven. What a wonderful thing to proclaim to an unsaved world.

Here at Joy92-FM our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We also seek to edify Christians with encouragement and information. Please continue to pray for us. This is your station and your tax-deductible gifts are what keep us on the air. Thank you.

In His Joy
,
