Dear Friends of KHCS, 

What role does Christian Radio play in the furtherance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? 

In Matthew 13 there are 32 verses dedicated to sowing and seed.  Most of us know it as the parable of the sower.  Some of our Lord’s statements as recorded in the Gospels are not explained in the text itself and subject to various interpretations.  The Lord Himself clearly explained this parable of the sower.

The seed is the Word of God.  In Matthew 13:18-23, the Lord explains the four results of the sowing of the Word of God.  Some seed falls on hardened hearts.  Some seed seems at first to take root but takes no residence in the heart.  Some seed falls on hearts already harvesting a crop of worldly cares and never flourishes.  Some seed falls on open, receptive hearts and bears great fruit.

At KHCS, our ministry is to sow the Word of God.  We sow 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 52 weeks of the year.  Our purpose is to be a non-stop, round-the-clock Seed sowing machine.

On our website at www.joy92.org you can see under the Program Guide tab the various ways the seed is sown. 

1)      The Word of God is preached on some programs. 

2)      The Word of God is taught on other programs. 

3)      The Word of God is defended against Satan’s attacks on some programs. 

4)      The Word of God is applied in a practical way on other programs focusing on Christian living and the family.

5)      The Word of God is sown through Christian Music, integrating a mix of traditional favorites with contemporary praise and worship songs.

To paraphrase Matthew 13:3, “In May 2006, a sower, that is, KHCS Joy 92 FM, went out in the Coachella Valley to sow the seed of the Word of God in every acceptable form imaginable.”

Every day, every hour, every minute people tune to 91.7 on their dial.  Some immediately change the channel (seed type #1).  Some listen and only momentarily determine to live a changed life (seed type #2).  Some receive the Word and show spiritual life, but that is soon chocked by the conflict in that heart with this world (seed type #3).  Finally, some seed falls on receptive hearts and the Word of God bears fruit (seed type #4).

Probably most of you are seed type number 4.  You have responded by receiving the Word.  The Word has brought forth fruit in your heart.  You have responded by giving back to this ministry in financial support so the ministry can continue to sow the Word of God – TO ALL THREE OF THE OTHER PEOPLE/SEED TYPES.

By the very nature of ministry, it is left to type 4 seed people to make it possible for the Word to continue to be sown to all four type seeds.   

At KHCS, the ministers and ministries you hear and love on a daily basis are not charged a fee to be heard on our station.  You can listen 24 hours a day with commercial interruption.  This is the role of KHCS in furthering the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
